Kossuth wins crucial game 1 in 2nd round softball series

The Kossuth Lady Aggies, fresh off of a round 1 sweep in the MHSAA fast pitch softball playoffs, got a stellar pitching performance, big hits and great defense to take the first game in their second round mathcup with North Pontotoc.

Kossuth, down early, came back to claim an 8-2 victory over the Lady Vikings of North Pontotoc.

The Lady Aggies got a standout pitching performance from Ava Meeks, who allowed just one earned run.

On the offensive end, Katie Meeks had a key double in the game-breaking 2nd inning to secure the victory for Kossuth.

Game 2 and 3 if neccesary is on the road on Tuesday in Ecru beginning at 5 p.m, with Game 3 to follow if needed.
