Alcorn Central remains undefeated in district with sweep of Kossuth

Alcorn Central and Kossuth met in a key Class 1 Region 1 matchup on Monday, with Central coming away with a 3-0 sweep in a tightly contested match.

The Lady Bears won by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-22 in the in-county matchup.

Alcorn Central gets the 25-22 game winner to claim the match 3-0 over Kossuth. A very competitive match!

Mia Griffin led the way for Central with 16 kills, 16 digs and an ace. Baleigh Vanderford continued her stellar ballhandling with 30 assists. Lauren Young added 14 digs and 10 kills while freshman Sydney Howie had 13 digs.

Alcorn Central has yet to lose a district set this season, sitting at a perfect 14-0 in sets and 5-0 in matches. They are 17-9 overall. Kossuth fell to 1-2 in district play.

Central is in action next this Saturday at the Tupelo Volleyfest. Kossuth takes on Falkner next Tuesday.
