Kossuth advances to third round of baseball playoffs

The Kossuth Aggies picked up a game three win in their series with South Pontotoc to clinch a spot in the 3A state baseball playoffs.

After dropping the opening game of the series, the Aggies picked up a win at home on Saturday and clinched the 3rd game by a 5-3 margin on the road.

The Aggies got a Brett Benjamin homerun, a Stone Bradley double and a pair of Kenner Mills singles to pace the offense while Rope Inman pitched 5 stellar innings to claim the win. Hunter Eaton came in to get a 6 out save without allowing a hit to end the game.

Kossuth is back in action against division rival Booneville in the third round. The first game of that series is set for Thursday.
