Alcorn Central uses second half comeback to get win at Lighthouse Classic
The Bears of Alcorn Central used a strong second half showing to pick up their second win of the year by defeating Waterloo at the Lighthouse Classic on Saturday.
Central found themselves down 16-9 at the end of the first period and 27-21 at halftime. But solid defense from Alex Moody, who finished with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 steals, and sharpshooting from Carter Hughes, who finished with a game high 20 points, pulled Alcorn Central to victory. Hughes was named the game MVP for his performance.
The Bears face county rival Biggersville on Tuesday and look to improve on their 2-4 record.
