At Walnut, Biggersville won 16–6 to end a five-game losing streak and move to 2–5. The Lions held a 3–4 Walnut team to six points after allowing 47 against Baldwyn the previous week. Quarter-by-quarter scoring and individual statistics were not posted for Friday’s win.
The next test comes October 16, when Biggersville hosts unbeaten Tupelo Christian Prep, now 7–0. Central hosts Mooreville that evening, Corinth hosts Tishomingo County, and Kossuth travels to Belmont. All four varsity football games are listed for 7 p.m. Central Time.
Before then, Kossuth’s girls volleyball team faces Belmont in the Class 3A semifinals Monday, October 12. The Aggies enter 29–4 with 21 consecutive wins and two straight-set victories over Belmont this season. The school calendar lists the semifinal at 6 p.m. Central; MaxPreps still lists the time as TBA.
Correction to Thursday’s roundup: Corinth defeated North Pontotoc 52–7 on October 8. MaxPreps has replaced the 85–0 loss previously shown in its listing, and the Clarion Ledger’s statewide finals independently confirm the 52–7 result. The Warriors are 4–2 overall and 2–0 in region play; this was a Thursday game, not a Friday result.
Coverage note: No additional October 9 varsity result was verified for the four schools. Golf and cross-country reporting remains incomplete; missing results do not establish that no events were held.
