Kossuth Puts 19-Match Streak on Line in Nettleton Playoff

Kossuth can turn a 19-match winning streak into another step through the Class 3A volleyball bracket Tuesday, October 6. The Lady Aggies host Nettleton at 5:30 p.m., the start listed on the school’s ticket page, with a 27–4 record and an unbeaten 8–0 region season behind them. Nettleton enters 12–16.

Two more county girls varsity teams have Tuesday playoff assignments. Alcorn Central, 11–19, travels to Winona, 6–21, for a 5:30 p.m. match. Corinth, 6–16, is listed at home against Mooreville, 19–6, with the start time still to be announced. Those fixtures appear in the Central and Corinth schedules. Biggersville’s schedule ends with its October 3 playoff loss to Ingomar; no further varsity volleyball match is listed.

The next football dates put Central and Biggersville back in action Friday, October 9, at 7 p.m. Central hosts Mantachie with both teams 4–2; the Golden Bears have won three straight. Biggersville travels to Walnut. Corinth’s trip to North Pontotoc is also listed for October 9 at 7 p.m. by the host’s ticket page and Corinth’s school calendar. Kossuth’s next listed game is at Belmont on Friday, October 16, at 7 p.m.

Golf reaches the regional stage first. Corinth’s calendar lists boys regionals Tuesday, October 6, and girls regionals Tuesday, October 13, without venues or tee times. Central’s boys play regionals at Hillandale Monday, October 12; its girls follow there October 13. Kossuth lists a division golf tournament October 12, but does not identify the boys’ or girls’ field, course or start. Separate next-event schedules for Kossuth’s boys and girls and Biggersville’s boys and girls could not be confirmed.

Central’s and Kossuth’s boys and girls cross-country teams next head to the Hardin County–Horse Creek Invitational October 13 at Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary in Savannah, Tennessee. The host starts varsity boys at 5 p.m. and girls at approximately 5:30.
