Lady Lions advance to state title game with win over Lumberton

Biggersville went back to the Big House on a mission.

They are one step closer after some breakfast basketball at the Coliseum on Monday

The Lady Lions defeated the Lumberton Lady Panthers 49-34.

Biggersville opened up the state tournament with a convincing win thanks to a dominant performance on the glass.

The Lady Lions out rebounded Lumberton 47-23 and turned a lot of those rebounds in to second chance opportunities and putback buckets.

Hanna Seago got a buzzer beater to give Biggersville a 14-9 lead after one quarter and the Lady Lions would never trail from there.

Seago would turn in a complete game for the Lady Lions, notching 12 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Biggersville would do most of their damage in the paint, with just one three pointer in the game from Marlee McCalister.

Asia Stafford would lead with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Goldee Butler put up 17 rebounds to go along with 9 points.

Biggersville was able to get every player in the game.

The Lady Lions move to to face the winner of West Union and McEvans for a state title on Thursday.
