Lady Aggies punch ticket to North Half with extra innings walk off win over Houston

Saturday’s matchup between the Kossuth Lady Aggies and the visiting Houston Lady Hilltoppers was a matchup of who would flinch first.

Kossuth showed their nerves of steel.

The Lady Aggies took a 1-0 walk off win on Saturday, with Katie Mask scoring on a passed ball after being moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Ella Jobe to take the game and clinch the series sweep. The Lady Aggies are moving on to the North Half final.

Pitcher Maddie Mask matched standout Houston hurler Paige Kilgore pitch for pitch throughout the contest, throwing a complete game shutout, striking out six and allowing just 5 hits.

Kossuth outhit Houston 6-5 on the day, but it was defensive plays and pure grit that led to the victory for the home team.

The Lady Aggies did a good job of putting the ball in play against Kilgore in the series, as Kossuth struck out just 3 times in the contest.

Kossuth now moves to the final four where they take on Booneville. The series is set to begin on Friday.
