Kossuth softball leading district after home win over Nettleton

Kossuth needed a win on their home field to put themselves in a position to clinch a softball district title.

The weather nor the visitors from Nettleon would stop the Lady Aggies from claiming victory.

Kossuth jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Anna Marlar that scored Katie Meeks and a pair of runs from Ella Jobe and Maddie Mask. That would be all of the run support that Maddie would need as the Lady Aggies rolled to a 7-2 victory.

The second inning saw the Lady Aggies plate three more runs, getting RBI’s from Marlar, Brooklyn Bascomb on a double and Meeks.

Mask would pitch 6 innings claiming the victory on the mound with 5 strikeouts while scattering 5 hits.

Nettleton would plate a pair of runs in the 4th inning while Kossuth would add their final run of the game in the 6th as Hadley James was walked in.

Ava Meeks led Kossuth at the plate with 3 hits and a pair of RBI’s.

Kossuth moves to 7-1 in district play and sits on top of the 1-3A standings. Their overall record is 12-7 on the year and they wrap up district play this week with a pair of games against Belmont.
