Corinth holds Shannon to 20 total yards in dominating opening night win

In a game where rain and mud is a factor, the key to winning football games in those conditions is controlling the trenches.

Consider it mission accomplished for the Corinth Warriors in their opening night 35-0 win over Shannon.

The Warriors held the Red Raiders to 1 first down and only 20 total yards in pitching a shutout.

The potent Corinth offense was slowed down by terrible field conditions, but they still managed to take a 10-0 lead into halftime after not allowing Shannon to cross midfield in the first half.

Corinth got a pair of rushing touchdowns from Tam Patterson. DT Sheffield contributed a rushing touchdown and a punt return for a score. Will Agnew rounded out the scoring with a 6 yard touchdown run.

Corinth is back in action this Friday with a rematch of last years instant classic against Tupelo.
