Biggersville prepares for playoffs after claiming district title

The Biggersville Lions laid claim to the district 1-1A football championship this season, amassing an undefeated record in district play punctuated by a 45-0 win against Thrasher on Friday night.

The real season begins now with a chance for multiple home games in the playoffs, beginning this Friday night against West Lowndes.

The Lions defense did what it has done so often this season, stifling the Rebel defense Friday night, including registering a third quarter safety. Biggersville is allowing just 11.4 points per game on the season.

On offense, the Lions got a pair of touchdowns from Goldman Butler and a trio of scores from Quinton Knight. Jerell Jones added a 4th quarter touchdown for the games final score.

Biggesville brings a 9-1 record to the playoffs facing off against a formidable opponent from West Lowndes. Kickoff is set for 7 pm. More pictures available from Dena Barnett by clicking here.
