Corinth clinches district title with big win over North Pontotoc

Corinth came in to Friday nights district game agaisnt North Pontotoc needing a win to clinch a district title and the guarantee of one more home game for this senior class next week.

Consider part one of this seasons mission accomplished for the Warriors.

Corinth jumped out to a 40-0 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 40-7 victory over the home team Vikings.

The Warriors got on the board first with a 3 yard Tam Patterson run and capitalized on a North Pontotoc fumble, one of 5 turnovers the Vikings had in the game, leading to a Cayden Betts 79 yard score. Nazarius Jones added a 23 yard score for a quick 20-0 lead for the Warriors.

The third score of the game came on a QB sneak from DT Sheffield.

Tam Patterson picked up his 2nd touchdown of the night on a 4 yard goal line run.

Brawner Cregeen hit Calvin Jones for his 2nd touchdown of the season for the final score of the final half and the ballgame.
