Corinth Girls Win by 26 at Belmont Classic
Corinth picked up its first reported varsity girls’ basketball win of the season Saturday, November 7, beating Itawamba Agricultural 67–41 at the Belmont Classic. The win moved the Lady Warriors to 1–1, with unbeaten Oxford (2–0) up next.
Earlier in the day, Amory got the better of Corinth on the soccer field. The Panthers beat the Lady Warriors 5–1 and took a 2–1 boys’ decision at Corinth. Both were nondistrict matches. The posted box scores give the finals without naming the goal scorers.
All three Corinth teams are back home Tuesday, November 10. The girls’ soccer match against Olive Branch starts at 5 p.m. Central, followed by Oxford on the basketball court at 6 and the boys’ soccer match against Olive Branch at 7.
Scoreboard note: MaxPreps lists the 2–1 boys’ score under two kickoff times; a second distinct result could not be confirmed. An additional girls’ listing has no final. No Saturday varsity finals were verified for Alcorn Central, Biggersville or Kossuth.
