Whitten’s Four-Touchdown Night Powers Alcorn Central Shutout; Corinth Falls in Tight Finish

Alcorn Central delivered the county’s biggest football highlight Friday, September 4, 2026, blanking Falkner 41–0 behind a four-touchdown performance from quarterback Ty Whitten. Corinth dropped a one-score game to Itawamba Agricultural, while Kossuth and Biggersville fell on Friday night.

The Golden Bears scored in every quarter, building a 14–0 first-quarter lead and taking a 20–0 advantage into halftime. Another 14 points in the third quarter put Central ahead 34–0 before a fourth-quarter touchdown completed the shutout.

Whitten completed five of nine passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. He also carried seven times for 78 yards and two scores. Wyatt Hardin caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Central evened its record at 1–1. Jayden Taylor received the team’s overall and defensive player-of-the-game honors, Whitten earned the offensive honor, and Patrick Fitzjarrald was recognized on special teams.

Corinth’s matchup with Itawamba Agricultural remained tied 7–7 through three quarters before the visiting Indians outscored the Warriors 14–7 in the fourth to win 21–14. Corinth had scored the game’s first seven points, but Itawamba answered in the second quarter. The result left the Warriors 1–1 and the Indians 2–0, according to the posted box score.

Kossuth fell 34–7 to visiting Adamsville, Tennessee. The Cardinals led 27–0 at halftime and added seven points in the third quarter. The Aggies scored their seven points in the fourth and finished the night 0–2. Adamsville improved to 2–1, per MaxPreps.

Biggersville lost 56–7 to Tishomingo County, moving to 1–1 while the Braves improved to 2–0. The game report did not include quarter-by-quarter scoring or individual statistics. The Lions next travel to East Webster on September 11; Kossuth hosts Tishomingo County that same night.
