Lady Aggies pass tough early season test against New Albany
Kossuth has their sights set on a lofty goal with their 2022 volleyball season.
They got a taste of a playoff atmosphere in August on Tuesday.
The Lady Aggies took a 5 set come from behind thriller over perennial 4A power New Albany to get their regular season home slate started.
Kossuth defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-7.
After falling behind 2-1, Kossuth leaned on their Senior leaders to come away with the victory.
Bailey Wilbanks led the way with 6 aces, 14 kills and 3 blocks to help move Kossuth to 5-0 to start the year.
Aven Mathis came up big with a team leading 15 kills against New Albany to go along with a pair of aces.
Emma Arthur added a pair of aces. Ashlynn Isbell was tough at the net with 12 kills and a pair of blocks.
Macadyn Holley and Emma Arthur combined for 24 assists.
Kossuth is back in action Thursday against defending state champion Pontotoc and Belmont.
