Biggersville wraps up 1-1A title with win over Falkner

The Biggersville Lions are the 1-1A district champions.

With a steady stream of singles and a one-hitter from Drew Rowsey, the Lions clenched the district crown on Tuesday with a 12-0 win in 4 innings over the Eagles.

The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, scoring both runs with 2 outs. Logan Ellsworth and Hunter Johnson picked up the RBI’s on sharply hit balls to Falkner shortstop Gavin Wooley.

With inclement weather moving in and the Lions leading 12-0, the game was called and victory awarded to the Lions.

Biggersville is 15-4 on the year and undefeated in district play.

They will take on the Smithville Seminoles in the first round of the 1A playoffs starting April 22nd.
