Alcorn Central and Kossuth set to square off with trip to Big House at stake

Alcorn Central and Kossuth are no strangers to each other. The Alcorn County programs have already suited up to play three times this season, including in the Division 1-3A tournament.

This game will carry just a bit more weight.

The two will square off Monday night with a trip to Jackson on the line. For Kossuth, the #1 seed who has beaten Central three times already this season, they are hoping for more of the same. For the Lady Bears, the #4 seed, they are hoping they continue to punch above their weight and come away with the win.

For both teams, a lot is on the line. Validation, bragging rights, the opportunity to continue on towards every teams ultimate goal: a championship.

The real winners are the local fans. Two teams in Alcorn County are among only 8 in 3A still competing. It is a real testament to each team rising to the moment, players, coaches and everyone involved with each program working towards a common goal. You have an opportunity to witness one of the biggest games in Alcorn County girls basektball in quite some time.

Word of advice: show up to Kossuth gym early for a seat tomorrow.
