Alcorn Central gets Week 2 shutout win over Thrasher

Alcorn Central was in bounce back mode and took a 41-0 win over Thrasher on Friday night to move to 1-1 on the season

The Golden Bears used a strong ground game to secure their first win of the season as they rushed for over 300 yards on the nights, a stark difference from last week as they took a 42-0 loss to Tishomingo County.

Central took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back with their rushing attack doing all of the heavy lifting in a 21-point 2nd quarter.

Quarterback Ty Whitten and Running Back Riley Dunn accounted for 20 yards and 4 scores between them to provide most of the damage. Jayden Taylor and Zyrus Badana added scoring runs as well.

On the defensive side, linebacker Peyton Young led with 5 tackles and a forced fumble.

Central is at home against North Pontotoc next week. Thrasher (0-2) is on the road to Potts Camp.
